It has been awhile since I’ve posted. My old laptop and Windows 10 update fought and Windows won, so I had to get a new laptop and luckily I have a son close by who resurrected important things on the new one and has the old one to try to recover a few things – like my address book!
In the meantime, I have been busy working a seasonal part-time job with a school photography company and getting myself organized yet again in the sewing rooms! I have a number of quilts cut out for sewing this winter and discovered a tote full of UFOs I went through to decide which I really will finish this year – 2016 – and put the rest aside to donate.
Wish me luck! I have already taken out one box and completed that top. It was a quilt along, something new for me, and a modern design, also new for me. I generally lean toward traditional patterns, but wanted to step outside my comfort zone and give it a try. I think it turned out pretty, but it isn’t me! One thing about modern designs, there is more background than “quilt” blocks – so more thought will go into the quilting. This good size quilt would fit a queen size mattress, I think. I didn’t measure it when it was done, but it is big. Snowflake Shimmer was designed by Quilting Jetgirl who led the quilt along.
