I put in a tremendous effort to finish the quilt top, but still need to put on the borders. To get a general idea of what it will look like finished, I put it on the design wall and pinned the borders up. It looks a little wonky in the photo, partially because I was standing on tip toe to pin the top section on, plus I think the inner section already stitched is a bit wider on the top than the bottom. Will need to measure and do some squaring up as required. Should be less than a day to get those borders on once measurements are taken. Then the plan is it goes directly to quilting on the longarm. I believe I have enough red to use as the back plus I have one block left that I may incorporate on the back! My first project when I return from South Carolina on April 7.
This is definitely a more modern improv type top than I normally do. I like it, but don’t see myself going modern/abstract more than infrequently – LOL! Looking for a name for this quilt. Any ideas? Let me know in the comment section!
