2018 Past Years

My 2018

My 2018 starts like many other quilters.  Looking back over the past year and reviewing how much (or little) I completed helps me see how overzealous I may have been.  You can read for yourself at /2017-project-list-2/. Of the thirty listed quilts I wanted to finish in twelve short months, 1/3 of them no longer reside in the “please do me” tower.  I had not anticipated some mostly small and quick finishes. Plus, a couple graduation quilts extended the list – not so small or quick.

2018 Goals

I thought I should be more reserved in my goals for 2018.  I have 6 quilt tops cut and ready to be put together. If I piece and quilt one every two months, I could cross those off all lists!  Doable?  Yes, if I keep focused!

  1. En Provence – a 2016 Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter
  2. On Ringo Lake – 2017 Mystery Quilt by Bonnie Hunter
  3. Sticks and Stones – MSQ with Jenny Doan – See her You Tube video Sticks and Stones
  4. 2013 Mystery Quilt by Ms. Johnson of Connecting Threads
  5. Hunters Star
  6. Applique House Quilt/Wall Hanging

I’m not going to put more on my list.  If I happen to want something small and quick to complete, I do have a stack of UFO’s that meet that description.

UPDATE 2023: #s 3, 4, and 6 have been completed sometime during 2019-2022.  #1, 2 and 5 made it to the 2023 list to be finished (she admits with a red face – LOL!).

BOM Found

In my search of remaining projects, I came across a BOM I was putting together for a beginner class I hoped to teach.  I’m contemplating offering it as an ongoing educational series that will take 3 to 6 months to complete.  Those interested will be able to sew along.

UPDATE 2023: Reposting this BOM will happen in 2023Receive notification of dates by signing up to receive my emails.

Son and Daughter-in-law’s Quilt

My intention had been to take a special quilt to my oldest son and his wife on Thanksgiving.  I simply ran out of time to quilt it. Unable to wait, I let them peek at the top I had brought.  Anxiously after that peek I finished and shipped it.
