2019

2019 is nearly here!  2018 seemed to just happen and passed quickly without me feeling like I fully took part in it like I wanted to.  I wasn’t focused; I wasn’t in the moment; I was not productive; the business didn’t grow.

Welcome, Heather, Office Manager of Sewing with Stitcher

I am happy to introduce my daughter Heather as full-time office manager of the business.  She will be doing all  website updating, accounting, photography, ordering, research, and the biggest job – getting me organized!

Stitcher – Doing What She Likes Best

With all the time I get not doing the tasks Heather will be in charge of, I get to do what I like to do! Sew and quilt and quilt and quilt and design and then sew and quilt and quilt and…

I’m not going to put any deadlines on myself and hope that helps me enjoy what I am doing in the process. I’m not even writing daily “to do” lists. Total freedom to do whatever I’m in the mood to do when I enter the work zone. Sounds like an ideal job!

Teaching in 2019?

Teaching has a natural draw for me. I’ve tried having my own sewing school and I took the school on the road. Neither had sustaining interest with students. I have other options – teaching through the community college adult continuing education and/or at quilt shops and fabric stores. I’m looking at spring as a time to reintroduce teaching to my agenda.

StitcherMade – Your Place to Shop

StitcherMade will have new items added to the store inventory as they are completed. I’ll share a couple times a week on my blog what I’ve been working on and how well the progress is going.

What can you anticipate seeing in 2019?

  • items under $25
  • seasonal/holiday decor
  • garlands
  • soft toys and animals
  • quilts from mini to king if I get a bit crazy!
  • fidget quilts
  • cancer patient beauty caps/scarfs
  • unique bed jackets good for immobile females who need a bit of extra warmth
  • quilts with a male theme – hunting, fishing, camping, sports, hobbies
  • special orders*, such as weighted quilts for autistic individuals with recommendation from treating physician. *Special orders are not returnable and will be by mutual agreement of signed contract, 50% down and balance at completion.
  • and maybe a few surprises! I’m always open to hear what you would like to see and buy from StitcherMade.
Education

I will be writing some posts on a wide variety of subjects related to sewing/quilting and the tools we use, including fabric. If there is something in particular you are curious about, let me know.

Fun Monthly Projects

I have some ideas of fun, easy projects I think you might enjoy. Sewing machine is optional. Be sure to sign up to get notice via email when I post so you can get the monthly project list of supplies and the directions to make.

Final Words in 2018

I am grateful for my followers this past year. You do influence the direction of Sewing with Stitcher. I’m more likely to post when I know there are people out there actually reading what I have written! I’d love to receive comments from you! Help my business grow by suggesting your friends and family stop by.

WELCOME 2019!  MAY IT BE A YEAR OF POSITIVE CHANGES, HAPPINESS, GOOD HEALTH, AND PEACE – PERSONAL AND GLOBAL!
